amcs.fund is built only from official sources. Nothing is estimated from third-party aggregators.
Portfolios
SEBI requires every mutual fund house to publish the complete portfolio of every scheme each month, within 10 days of month end. We fetch each fund house's own file (Excel or a zip of Excel files) from its website, detect the header row, and read every line that carries an ISIN: instrument name, ISIN, industry or rating, quantity, market value, % to net assets, yield and maturity where given.
- Scheme size is the disclosure's own “Net Assets” or “Grand Total” row, never a sum of holdings (which would double-count hedges).
- Cash & others is scheme size minus the holdings that carry an ISIN: TREPS, reverse repo, net current assets and margin money.
- Money is shown in ₹ crore (“L cr” = lakh crore). Disclosures state ₹ lakh; we divide by 100 once.
- Rows whose market value exceeds the scheme's own net assets are dropped as corrupt cells and counted.
Buys and sells
A buy or sell is a change in the number of shares a scheme holds between two monthly disclosures, valued at this month's price. Changes in market value alone are never counted as flows, because they mostly reflect price moves. Flows are shown only where both months disclose quantities.
Classification
- Scheme category is AMFI's, matched from AMFI's daily NAV file. AMFI is moving to new category names; where a new name has no exact old equivalent we keep AMFI's wording.
- Instrument type comes from the ISIN structure (equity, commercial paper, certificate of deposit, debentures, government securities, T-bills, state loans) and, where that is ambiguous, from the disclosure's section heading.
- Sector is the SEBI/AMFI classification from the exchanges. Large/Mid/Small follows SEBI's rule (rank 1-100, 101-250, 251+ by full market cap), computed on current market cap, so it can differ from AMFI's six-monthly list near the cut-offs.
- Issuer groups every instrument an entity has issued using the issuer code inside the ISIN.
History
Fund houses delete old disclosures, so history exists only from when it was captured. Quarterly snapshots from September 2023 carry value but not quantity; monthly capture with quantities runs from July 2026.
